Another Family Member

I received a phone call from my oldest son the other day informing me that my brother billy has past away. He was doing so much better trying to survive Stage three lung cancer, but after the death of his long time companion, Betty, he just lost the will to go on. He passed away exactly one month after her. His funeral will be on Friday.

I have now lost four brothers and one sister and hope the rest can survive until I go home for Christmas.

I know he is in a better place and will always be in my memories.

Thanks everyone for your thoughts and prayers. The memorial service and funeral will be tomorrow. My oldest boy and five nephews will be pall bearers. My oldest son was especially close to him during the teen years when he lived with them and my ex-wife.

This has prompted me to make it back home for Christmas. I am purchasing my ticket at Greyhound on the third. By purchasing it a couple months in advance I only have to pay $238 round trip. It takes about two days there and two days back, but I have lots of time on my hands.

ss thats a lot to bare for 1 person . i know how my husband felt when he lost his 2 brothers and a mon about 2 yrs apart . he also lost a 42 year old sister yrs ago . its just 2 much . my prayers and thoughts wioth you, ty josie46

Hugs to you AJ and my prayers with you and your family in this time of need.No more suffering is how I try to fight the loss as yesterday my sons 30 yr old lifelong buddy was buried and I tried to comfort them by letting them know he battled brain stem cancer for over a year and he no longer is in pain.He lost most of his eye sight last month and his abilities to walk without help this month and left 3 little ones and a baby on the way so as his mother expressed at his memorial yesterday that he will live on but not with anymore suffering.Sad to attend a memorial with about 50 kids being between 28 to 30 years old.All his childhood friends

I understand, within the past four years I had to deal with four brothers and one sister passing away before I was able to say goodbye.

I have had my share of death in my lifetime that I have no more tears to shed. During the eighties and early nineties we were attending funerals at the rate of one, sometimes two a week of friends and their families.

Most of the time they would go so quickly that you ended up looking at each and every friend wondering if he is the next one to go, or you begin to think that his time is up because he happens to have a cough, cold, weight loss, tired, and/or fatigued.

Over a hundred through a decade will toughen even the softest of hearts
