Driver Update Or Modem

i have one more question if any one can help me i'm using windows xp and i want to update my driver because it's out of date. does anyone know where i can update it for free. i'm using a compaq presario 6330us desktop and when i went to the website the driver that they had was for 2004 and iwant to know if there is a later version of that of anyone knows where i can get a software that scanners the driver and update them for free

Hi Jackie, I asked a friend of mine that knows about computers and she said to make sure that you have done all your updates with windows and then you should be able to use the 2004 update on the compaq website.

where do i go because i have mine done on auto but when iwent to compaq the only update for a modem or driver that they have for my computer is 2003

Click on the "start" button, then "All Programs", then "Microsoft Update", then check for updates.

well i did that and there is no updates for now

Jackie, she said to go to the Compaq webite and type in your computer information in the search bar and they should have the driver that you need.

If you can't find it, then she suggests you contact Compaq and they should be able to help you.

I just noticed this topic - it doesn't say why you want to update your drivers...? (are you experiencing a problem?)

It might be that you have the latest driver(s) and they don't need updating...

Sorry if I've missed the point ...

What the others have said is exactly what I'd suggest too - ie. windows updates and Compaq site / support..

Oh I see... ermm .. I'm not sure where you got the program from.. but I've not heard of this particular one..

Sounds like a bit of a 'scam' to make you buy it ...

Generally you can always download drivers for FREE - it's just finding them is sometimes difficult (and usually not 'that' difficult if you have the information you have).

However, I'd suggest - if you're not experiencing any specific problems - then I would not bother using this or other such programs ..

Do you have an actual problem (i.e. specific program not running or something?)
