Posted: Fri Feb 29, 2008 8:35 pm Rival software updates--help!
I've had no problems with the Rival software until just this week. For some reason, with the new software self updates, i'm being blocked from connecting to the gaming server. This has happened so far with Slotocash, Mayan Fortune and Simon Says. Slotocash Support gave me some steps to follow (uninstalling the software etc..) and nothing is working. I could access this software with no probs up until these darn updates started.
I even completely shut down my firewall and it still wont connect. The Slotocash support guy finally gave up after 5 emails, suggested i take my computer in for repairs (nothing wrong with it!)
Anybody else having the same probs? I'm using windows XP.

OK it's done and it logged me in fine and I've just found a few free chips to play there too! lol ..
Yes, it's working here.. you might want to try logging out of the internet (if you're on broadband / DSL - just disconnect and re-connect) and it might work if it gives you a different IP address.. OR maybe they've just fixed it..
(Oh I'm using Vista rather than XP but I quickly also did it on my XP machine and that's working fine too)
Just called a friend of mine who has windows xp and had her log onto to slotocash. It updated 74 files and logged her on no probs.
This is what Eric at Slotocash had me try..
Dear XXXXX,
We have just recently resolved the causes for these issues.
Please do the following:
Uninstall the casino from your computer through the control panel's add/remove programs.
Then please go to the base install directory where you installed the casino (normally c: - program files - SlotoCash) and delete the casino's directory and all files still in it if any.
Please go to Internet Options in Internet Explorer. You will find this under the Tools menu. When the window opens click on the Advanced tab, then click Restore Default button. Once that is completed, click OK.
Then do this: Go to "Start" button, then click "run". and then enter "cleanmgr" and clear (check): downloaded program files, temporary internet files and the temporary files. Then press ok and say "yes" to performing these actions.
Then you can re-download a fresh version of the install file from the casinos webpage and re-install the casino.
This should resolve the issue if you do it in this exact order.
If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to contact us again.
Followed that to a tee, same prob. Follow up email...
Dear XXXXXX,
Following up on your email.
The Debug.dat information appears to be referring to a block of the connection for the casino program.
We would strongly advice to configure any installed firewalls, security software or routers on your computer including the Windows XP built in firewall to allow all access for the casino program.
We also recommend disabling any internet or download accelerator software you may be using.
If you do not feel comfortable with this please have an experienced computer user check and adjust this for you.
If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to contact us again.
The thing is, i never touched my settings at all, so why are these updates blocking me from connecting to the servers? I can still log on to any other casino, it's just the newly updated Rivals that are not working.

Hi sensfan!
First of all, YOU ARE SOOOOOOO CUTE!!! Too bad I am old enough to be your mother!
Secondly, I sure hope you get your probs worked out.
I have found that sometimes the reps at these sites give us TOO MUCH info about how to do something. If I were you, I would try deleting them from my system and then re-installing them the way I always do any other program. Bet it works! Hope so, anyway.
You know what they say: "There is more than one way to skin a rat!" (I couldn't bear to say to say "cat" LOL)
Best of solutions and luck to you, goodlooking one!

Josie, my friend!
I think you just made the understatement of the week! LMAO!
But patience, buddy. We will find a solution for everything, no matter how much barbwire we have to climb thru and it will all work out in the end in our favor, I feel sure!
I dont get how someone else with the same operating system as me can dl the casino with the updates and access it no problem. The casino dat file shows my computer is blocking access, but i have no clue how to give it access. I've shut down my firewall, completely uninstalled and reinstalled the software. I've tried everything i know with absolutely no luck. I really hate to think i can't play on any Rival casinos anymore just becuase of some stupid software update glitch that no one seems to know how to solve.

Sensfan4.....I also have done all that and spent a lot of time with Michelle in Live chat...who promised to email a solution back to me 3 days ago...at least you did get an email....funny thing is I had just reformatted my computer.....so I have been redownloading everything I liked....gor Divinci's with no problem...waited about 2 weeks to get Sloto...couldn't...so tried Simon Says..couldn't...now can't get any...so I have the one Rival and have lost all bonuses etc at the others....you would think they could give a patch or something, but guess our money is not worth it...let me know if you ever get in...myself, I am tired of installing and uninstalling...Maoreo

Hi Crushers, Geno is away on holiday, but I just sent him a pm to see if he would contact our affiliate rep for Rival and see if he can do something about this.
Hopefully Geno will have internet access within the next couple of days and we can get this take care of for you.
