Recently I have been getting allot of calls from area codes- 866 and 877. Well not being familer with those area codes I usally don't answer them.
But sometimes they would leave a message on voice-mail, and it would be a casino calling.
So tonight out of curiousity I went to "www.areacodehelp.com" and entered 866 and this is what it say's about this area code.
"Area code 866 was put into service. With toll free numbers the charges are paid for by the party who is called instead of the caller. Although area code 866 is not assigned to a geographical area, calls to any toll free number may be restricted by the customer. Other toll free area codes are 800, 855, 877, and 888
So be aware if these area codes call you it is on your dime I guess.

They also use the toll free numbers that automatically signs you up for a added premium phone service that you didn't order. By answering your 866 call they word the call in such a way that when you state your name or something else they record it as accepting their services, thereby charging your phone bill a monthly charge. I found out they also do it with text messaging. I found this out when two months ago I got a text message from a number beginning with a seven. All it said was, Are you There?. It occurred on the twentieth of the month, two days before my billing date. Then a $9.95 monthly premium charge appeared on my phone bill. I called the phone company and got it removed (which takes forever) and didn't realize that text message was the cause, until the second month on the 22nd I got another text message asking the same question, and again a premium monthly charge, so I connected the last month text message and this one, and again got the phone company to remove the charge. Well just like clock work on the twentieth of this month I got a text message from a number beginning with a seven asking the same question. Well this time I deleted the message before I opened it, and guess what, no premium monthly charge on this bill. They are using text message like spam mail to the point that when you click on an email you get hooked into something that's going to cost you, and when you open the text message the same thing happens. The name of the service is Sendme Mobile 77899. Do as google search for that info and see what you come up with. Good Luck
