Prayer Request for my dad...

Hello... Sitemates.. I find myself in a situation that is totally humbling, and painful and ohhhh so ?????? ....WHAT CAN YA DO??? ..my answer... is the one thang that anyone can.....pray!!

My dad disappeared from my life some time ago..., yet the Lord saw fit to bring him back to my life some 29 years later....so in a sense, I had mourned my father...just kinda figured he was gone..for good... and lo, and behold, through technology and the internet..... my (unknown to me) sister found me through my email account with yahoo..!

This happened in 2000.... we have met,, been in close contact, and I have found that my 2 little(younger) sister were just like me and my other siblings...we care,love and accept each other with open arms...

Our father, in the interim, had gone on and made a very happy life for himself ... and I told him how happy I am for him having done such a thing..even though the years without him were sorrowful..the joy I feel knowing that he was able to make a happy life for this his (my new) family..

He has been diagnosed with Cancer in his bladder, liver, spine, and he truly does not look good at alll. I find it very discomforting especially now, realizing that I mourned him, found him... and now find myself about to mourn him again...

I just ask for prayer from those of you sitemates, that do believe in Jesus Christ our Lord, and I thank you ahead of time....knowing that Our God is merciful...and I know how painful cancer is.... Thanks in advance, ...and God Bless us one and ALL!!

Well Bob I was taught to believe that god does things for a reason and believe me sometimes I sure cant figure it out (the reason) But did you say you now have some sisters?And that you have got to spend the last years with your dad?Well I believe god works miracles as I am a cancer survivor so far and you can believe their were so many prayer chains going.I will put you in my dad in my prayers but remember keep those last years cherished and stay close to those new founded sisters

as that should be well worth the walk back into your life and keep hope and faith as it works......

My thoughts and prayers are with you Bob I have lost my father when I was two years old . Iam now 56 and still to this day wondered where he is and why he left us all . Never to come back in to our lives . I have tried to find him with no success .If I did I might be going through the same thing you are . Sorrow some times I feel is sad . But knot knowing at all hurts even more . I believe in Our lord and hope he has taken my fathers pain away if any , and when it is my time I hope to see him again to get my answers . So you know what is going on in his life morn and let him go . The lord will lift your pain . And lead you in the right direction or life . Be happy for we all know know our maker will save us all and take us to a better life here after . God bless you And many prayers coming your way .

Oh Bob, my thoughts and prayers go out to you and your dad, I lost my father to cancer not long ago amd cherish the time I had with him until the end. Cherish your father now and let God lead him through this trying time.

I thank you all for your prayers ....and believe me, your words of encouragement...are very much appreciated... it is times like these that knowing others have been down a similar path ...somehow ... is comforting... I trust God has the true Knowing... and I am thankful and trusting in Him!.. I do find this ....oh, soooooooooo , very humbling!

Thank you for your thoughts and prayers...and I know my Dad appreciates it as well!!

God Bless, you, Char...and keep up the Good Fight! ... and thank God for blessing you with recovery!...I do understand it is quite painful... and He does have His reasons for the path that each of us must endure....Thank you for you!.... and sharing with me!

Hi,

Bob6188 it's a miracle that you and your new found family are together at this sorrowful time...Perhaps your new siblings can tell you all about the "Dad" they knew/know growing up and maybe that can bring you some comfort...

I hardly ever see my dad and we live maybe 20 mins away from each other, if I'm lucky I see him 2 or 3 times a year as he is re-married and all his efforts go into his family now even though they have been married for 32yrs...it's like forget the 1st family and concentrate on the one now...

I think you are soooo lucky to have you Dad with you now even if it's not for long...I know you will treasure each and every moment you spend with him...one other thing and this is just my opinion but please forgive him for his past and leaving you...The good Lord forgives and so must we even though it hurts like hell and is very hard to do, well at least for me anyway...

Your Dad, you and all your family are in my thoughts and prayers and God is watching over you hun...The good Lord does'nt make mistakes and is the only one who knows why things happen the way they do...

Awwww, Bob, my heart aches for you.

I can tell you are the kind of guy who feels everything very deeply, and that makes your pain all the worse.

Please remember that your father is in a position where many would love to be -- just one step will take him right in to Heaven! So it is for you that I pray, knowing your dad doesn't need it.

The prayer chains set up by Crushers and their prayers sent up DO work miracles for you. I can tell you that from personal experience.

Remember we are your family too, and please let us know, as a group and/or individually, if we can do anything more than pray for you.

Hi Bob I just noticed this thread, and it's bittersweet to me...I'm glad you were able to connect with your father and sisters again. I pray that God wll get you through this hard time. and give you strength and comfort in your time of need... prayer dose work. please keep us updated. you are such a good soul.
