“Polar Explorer” is a brand new slot game located at RTG Casinos, and for the purpose of this review, “Polar Explorer” was played at Everygame Red Casino. “Polar Explorer” has 25 payout lines, and bets can be placed from .25 cents to $125.00. The theme of the game is Arctic Exploring, and symbols are the polar bear, seal, a shark-type fish, a compass, and the usual letters and numbers. In addition, the scatter symbol is the wheel of a ship, and the Polar Explorer symbol is wild and can expand during certain game features.

As you will see, Polar Explorer is all about the feature bonuses!

The Snowflake:

Either the Explorer, the Discovery or the Hidden Treasure feature are instantly triggered when a snowflake appears in the background of reels 2, 3 and 4 during play.





Explorer Feature:

Five games are awarded, and reels 4 and 5 are automatically filled in with explorer expanding wild figures. Any three scattered wheels during the bonus round will retrigger five additional free games.





Discovery Feature:

During this feature, eight free games are awarded and at least one explorer is guaranteed to appear somewhere on the reels during each free spin. Free games can be retriggered twice during this round with three scatters appearing anywhere. The explorer may expand during these free games.





Hidden Treasure Feature:

5 Treasure Chests are revealed. Each chest contains a bonus symbol, and a maximum of three bonus symbols can be selected by choosing a treasure chest until a cave-in occurs. This feature is also retriggered when 3 scatter symbols appear anywhere on the reels.






Feature Guarantee:

Some RTG games offer a guarantee that a feature will occur within a given number of spins. Polar Explorer is a feature guarantee game, and a bonus feature is guaranteed to occur within 125 spins, or it will be automatically triggered. In this game, on a quarter bet, there is a .05 fee for each spin for this feature. The fee increases with the bet, up to a whopping $25 per spin of $125, bringing the per spin total to an insane $150! I wish I could afford that kind of play!

At any point during the game, the player can choose to attempt to trigger the feature by playing the instant feature game. Odds of triggering the feature are better if the player is close to meeting the the maximum number of spins until the feature is automatically triggered. If you have only played ten spins out of 125, your chances of triggering free spins is less than 8%, and you probably will not be successful in forcing the feature to trigger.






My System and Final Thoughts:

The game graphics are adequate, but not at all flashy or original. Those of you who have read my RTG reviews already know that my sound is on mute. Every once in awhile I will play RTG games with the sound on, but it only lasts a minute or two before the sound is muted again.

So far, I've been lucky with hitting the bonus round on “Polar Explorer.” The snowflake has appeared many times, each time giving me one of the above mentioned bonuses. My favorite bonus is the Explorer feature, due to the face that with the last two reels filled with expanding wilds, it's just a matter of time before that makes for a very nice bonus!

As usual for me, I like to stay on a quarter. I don't expect to become a millionaire playing these games, and I really just want to get a decent amount of playtime for my deposits. This is a good game to play, and I'll stick with it for a longer amount of time to see if I can get each feature to trigger. Polar Explorer is a lot of fun, and I will definitely be adding this to my list of regular games.
