Has anyone ever won the jackpot before? if so, how many times?

If i'm not mistaken the math to it is a discrete math formula of:

either 4^10 to 1 chances

or

4 choose 10 (4!10)/4 or something like that? Let's see, i'll calc it, i thin ki have my old discrete mathematics book around from college, it has the formulaic calc in it.... sec.....

oh it's (10!(10-N)+1!) or in other words..... i still think it's off because the permutations are sequential for thet choose four combinatoric function power series.... 10!7 = 1 in 5040 chances, but i think this is for the four numbers to match but not be sequential... can you clarify geno, i getting old, and having mathematically stretched my mind in a while since engineering core classes education for my college minor was taken almost 20 years ago... lols

I think it is probably more simple than that - there are 10,000 different combinations for the jackpot --- so the chances of winning the jackpot are 1 in 10,000.

Chances of winning CCpoints prizes of course are much better...

When you pick your numbers, the server also generates a random set of 4 numbers from 0-9 each (there's 10 to the power of 4) = 10x10x10x10 = 10,000

You can see all of our Free Lotto winners by doing the following :-

1. Click on the "CONTEST WINNERS" link on the bottom line of the top menu ...
2. Click on the button that says "All time" ...
3. You will see a list of different Contest Prize Types ... and you will see it says -FREELOTTO ($1,005) --- click on FREELOTTO and it will take you to the FREE LOTTO prizes.

And yes, it was won quite a bit more often before when we had many more active members playing the maximum number of games each day (20 games over a 24 hour period I believe) but of course each go is independent of each other game (the 'lack of memory' property of probability - i.e. the chance of winning each time is exactly the same every time).
