I'm Back.....finally!!

HELLO AGAIN CC!!

Some of you know that I haven't been around for a while and I'm happy to tell you that I think things are only going to get better from now on.

I was taking meds to get rid of the Hepatitis C that was in my system and they made me really sick. I had good days and bad but eventually all days were bad. The meds also made me lose my appetite, so I hardly ever ate. I ended up losing 65 pounds in 3-4 months (which was more than I needed to lose). Finally, I listened to Sean and went to the hospital (he had been telling me for quite some time).

I was told then that I now have Type 1 Diabetes. On top of that, there were a lot of other issues. I was underweight, malnutritioned, my muscles were shrunk and pretty useless (I couldn't walk on my own), to mention a couple.

I was at the hospital for over a week and then sent to a nursing home. There I went through physical therapy. I also learned a lot about diabetes and what foods I can eat. They kept me there until I could walk and gained some wait.

There is good news out of all of this.....I succeeded in getting rid of the Hepatitis. Also, Sean has been so supportive throughout the whole thing, I really saw how much he cares about me.

I am getting better each day. Yesterday, I walked to the store, which is a couple of blocks away. I have gained a few pounds and I'm told that I look much better.

So, that is my story. I have missed you all and I plan to come back to bingo tonight.

Awesome Gloria, you have been missed soooooooooooooooooooooo much!!!!!! I am so happy you are doing better, sorry about the diabetes, but these things do happen to the best people. As another diabetic, it is easy to manage if you watch what you ingest!!!!!!! Take your meds as prescribed and that includes your insulin. I look forward to seeing you at bingo tonight.

Welcome back Gloria. I am glad you are doing much better! Soon you will be able to walk 4 blocks then 6! Keep at it!

Gloria, Been thinking about you and hoping you are continuing to improve. The walking is so important. And Donna is right on about the meds. Wishes for complete recovery and then some. Keep it up !!!
