My Review of Sunset Showdown Slot Game

~~ Sunset Showdown is a 25 line, 5 reel video slot with an old west theme. The bet per spin can be as low as .01 or as high as $62.50 with a great many options in between. The maximum jackpot that can be won is 7,500 coins. The game offers up a wild and scatter symbol. While it doesn't have free spins available, there are 2 types of bonus rounds that can be activated. The game was introduces in December of 2008 by Microgaming and is available in the download version.
~~ The excitement of the old west is depicted quite well in this slot, focusing on the cowgirl, rather than the usual cowboy. There are great graphics, animations, and effective audio to help one to feel as though they are interacting with a western movie, waiting for that great ending of walking off into the sunset and living happily ever after.
~~The symbols and background found are authentic in nature, creative, and in good taste. There is a cowgirl, a cowboy, revolvers shooting, a bag of money, cowboy boots, and a saddle. The Ace, Queen, King, Jack, 10, and 9 are displayed as playing cards.
~~ There is a good choice of coins that can be used and they are as follows: .01, .02, .05, .10, .20, and .25. The maximum number of coins per line is 10. When playing the maximum amount of coins there is a chance of winning the highest jackpot of 7,500 coins. If using a .25 coin while doing this, the total would be $18,750.
~~ The wild symbol is the cowgirl. She can be substituted for any symbol except for the scatter. A winning combination with a wild included are doubled. The scatter symbol is the shooting guns. 2 or more showing any where on the reels will be a win of a multiple of the total bet. The more gun symbols showing, the higher the multiplier.
~~ When the first and fifth reel have a cowgirl in any position, the respin bonus is triggered. A cowgirl cover the entire first and fifth reel making each reel wild. 3 respins of reels 2, 3, and 4 are then awarded. Any winning combinations during the respins are tripled.
~~ When 3 or m ore of the scatter symbol are shown in any position on the reels, the "Baddy" bonus will begin. On a new screen, the scene that is shown is that of a showdown at sunset. The view is of the back of the cowgirl, armed and ready, with several men with guns are positioned on the street, in doorways and on rooftops. One by one a "Baddy" is picked and shot at, a random amount of coins is then won. This continues until 5 of them have been chosen.
~~I like this game because the bonus rounds are a bit different and fun to play. I have had pretty good luck, especially with small amount bets. Often while betting only .25 a spin, I will hit one of the bonus rounds and win enough to keep me playing for a while; a few times, around $100.00. The best that I have done is winning more than $300.00 with a .75 wager. I play this game starting low for about 20 spins and then raise the bet if I do well or move on to a different game if I don't. I often use this game as my "last chance" game when my funds have reached a very low level.
