**A princess for me and Popcorn Balls were quite popular when I was trick or treating, ewwww lol and any candy was good candy for me. lol Back in the good ol days I remember a house that they had ran out of candy, so they invited us in for a piece of cake with a glass of milk. I think that was my favorite.
When my daughter and her friends wanted to go trick or treating I was always the one that would walk them around town. Before we started the walk I made the kids promise that I would get 1/2 of their Reeses Peanut Butter Cups for taking them out. That was and still is my favorite Halloween candy.

When i was a child, In Italy we didn't celebrate Halloween. So i never dressed up. It's a few years italian children celebrate dressing like witches, zombies, black cats and so on, and they go from house to house singing trick or treat.
This year they can't because to save Christmas, italians are again in (a light) lockdown.

I loved Wonder Woman...I had tin foil bracelets and a tin foil tiara. I dressed up as her even when it wasn't Halloween! I loved jaw breakers and sugar candies. I hated anything with coconut. The trouble was my sisters hated coconut too, so no trading. I use to suck the chocolate off the mounds bars and throw the rest away. hehehe

I remember when I was about 10 doing a local Halloween parade, I wore my grandfather's tuxedo. (He was a local traveling choir director} I also carried an open small case and had a mustache on like Groucho Marx. I did win a prize but I don't remember how much LOL. I liked 5th Avenue bars then (I don' t know if they still make them)

As a kid I usually dressed as a bum or a ghost. We would go out trick or treating at least twice during Halloween week. Costumes that you could by were crepe, usually made of plastic that ripped the first time you put it on and couldn't be used more than once. Probably my favorite candy to get was a Hershey bar or Reeses Peanut Butter Cup. Hated anything that had coconut (I'd pick the almond off the Almond Joy's and threw the rest away)

I remember dressing up one year as someone from the 1950's. Like on the Happy Days or Laverne & Shirley show. My mother made me a poodle skirt(skirt with a poodle on it), I had the bobby socks on with the black & white shoes & a sweater with a big S on the front left side(like Laverne had a big L on her sweater) & I had a handkerchief tied around my neck with my hair in a pony tail. It was a cute outfit. My favorite candy is either popcorn balls & caramel apples with nuts & the candy I disliked getting the most would of been smarties.
Thanks for contest!
sincerely,
tobad

WHEN I WAS A KID, IT WAS MY DREAM, TO BE A HONEST-TO-GOD, TRAIN-HOPPING, HOBO WHEN I GREW UP!
IN MY CHILDISH MIND, THAT SEEMED LIKE A WONDERFUL WAY TO LIVE MY LIFE!
NO TIES, NO RESPONSIBILITY, JUST MOVING FROM CITY TO CITY, STATE TO STATE, A NEW ADVENTURE TO BE HAD AT EVERY STOP!
BUT GROWING-UP WAS TAKING TO LONG, SO EVERY HALLOWEEN I WOULD A DRESS UP AS A HOBO,
COMPLETE WITH THE STICK AND BUNDLE OF CLOTHS TIED TO THE END OF IT, AND PRETEND I WAS A REAL-LIFE HOBO!
EACH STREET WE VISITED WAS A NEW CITY, EACH HOUSE, A NEW ADVENTURE WITH A TASK I NEEDED TO COMPLETE
TO EARN THAT SWEET REWARD!
BACK THEN, MY FAVORITE HALLOWEEN TREAT WAS A RARE AND SELDOM SEEN TREASURE...
THE BIG, JUICY, "RED CANDY APPLE!" ON A WOODEN STICK, AND SADLY I, NEVER GOT MANY OF THESE!
BUT BOY, I GOT WAY TO MANY OF THOSE LITTLE DUM, DUM, SUCKERS, THAT ALWAYS ENDED UP WITH A BIG HOLE NEAR THE END OF THEM,
THAT ALWAYS CUT THE ROOF OF MY MOUTH, I JUST WANTED TO GIVE BACK TO THE FOLKS THAT GAVE THEM TO ME... LOL
AND DON'T EVEN MENTION THOSE, LITTLE HARD A** BAZOOKA JOE BUBBLE GUMS!
BY THE TIME YOU CHEW'EM, TIL THEIR SOFT ENOUGH TO EVEN BLOW A BUBBLE, ALL THE SWEET IS GONE, AND YOUR MOUTH IS JUST TO DAMN TIRED TO BLOW... HA HA HA!
BUT, AFTER ALL, IS SAID AND DONE, I CONTINUED TO TRICK OR TREAT YEAR AFTER YEAR, WITH MY KIDS, MY GRANDKIDS,
AND I STILL DRESSED UP LIKE A HOBO, AND STILL LOVED EVERY MINUTE OF IT!
In Holland Haloween was unknown when we were young, still 31october is a date Mieke and I celebrate every year,as on that day we did meet and kissed for the first time, we were 15 and 16,and after 55 years still together...
