October, 2016 Posting Contest

I remember when a kid we trick or treated for about a week before Halloween now it's just on halloween

I remember using my change to take the bus

I lived in the same house from the age of 3 until I was 20 but went to a total of 7 different schools

i remember babysitting for 25 cents an hour

I remember saving and collecting pop bottles to cash in at the grocery store for money to buy candy. I went to neighbors and even found them in ditches when people would throw them out car windows. I think I'd get 2 0r 3 cents a bottle, but a Hershey bar was only a nickel so it was worth it.

i remember when sugar hill gang came out with rappers delight.

When I was a kid, on Halloween, almost all houses had their lights on.

YEARS AGO HALLOWEEN "TRICK OR TREATING " STARTED AROUND DUSK DARK AND ENDED WHAT EVER TIME YOUR PARENTS DECIDED YOU SHOULD BE HOME. NOWADAYS THE CITY OFFICIALS DECIDE WHAT TIME " TRICK OR TREATING " STARTS AND ENDS . HERE IN OHIO IT STARTS AROUND 6 P.M. & ENDS AROUND 8 PM . NO MATTER HOW MUCH CANDY YOU LEFT.....

I remember when it was safe to let your kids' be outside in the yard without having to worry about them so much.

I remember when I had a wringer washer. Even though automatics were available, I found a wringer for a good price and I really liked it.

I remember when "inflight attendants" were only women and called stewardess.

I REMEMBER WHEN THE SCHOOLS TAUGHT ( HOME ECONOMICS CLASS )
COOKING AND SEWING...IT TOOK ME A YEAR TO MAKE ONE APRON LOL

we used to pick colored leafs and iron them between wax paper

Do you remember these? Can you imagine having them for sale now?

I remember when you could still burn leaves along the edge of the road. I would roast marshmallows while keeping an eye on things to be sure the fire didn't spread
