Hello Crushers!




Crushers please tell us do you have a vegetable/fruit garden and do you freeze, pickle, jar etc to prepare for the winter months..and if so which vegetables/fruits do you prepare..

nope i just buy fresh,frozen and canned vegetables and fruit.I don't even know how to do it myself.plus am to lazy to go thur all that trouble....LOL. easier to buy.

no garden here.

I tried planting a veggie and fruit garden, but failed...lol! So I just borrow some tomatoes from the neighbor. Suppose I'll try again next year.

Other than that, I just go to the store.

None of the above all store bought.

I used to have a veggie garden but not for the last few years....I like to do some pickled beets and Garlic dill pickles!

Pa never promised me a rose garden but that is what I have LOL
I buy corn on the cob and cut off the leftovers and freeze them. Granddaughter buys apples and we can applesauce and I freeze it.

Don't have a garden. I freeze Dutch Strawberries and Raspberries in the summer because in the winter the only strawberries you can buy are from other country's and are expensive and don't taste as good as the Dutch ones.
Same goes for Dutch Cauliflower and Dutch Green Beans.
Other vegetables i buy fresh in the winter, lots of different kinds to choose from then.

I live in a condo so no, but my parents did when I was a kid (and still do) in AK and my mom cans everything and makes jam to boot.

I kill everything in my garden. Seems to have the fingers of death.
can't get anything to grow but the grass.

Me and a garden don't mix to well lol. I buy frozen or go to a produce stand.

lol as i can't even be bothered cutting grass not much chance of me growing fruit or veg, as for preparing for winter maybe its different over there lol but supermarkets here stock all fruit and veg all year round, they import it from other countries, on the subject of vegetables lol whats the most religious vegetable in the world, answer is lettuce , why lettuce i hear you ask, well if you go to a church(i visited one once lol) you hear the minister say lettuce pray lol

I am in an apartment now so I can't have a garden... not that I ever had a garden but once. It is definitely not my style. I am not into all that weeding and such in the heat. I am also now in a wheelchair.

I make a lot of pickled eggs and stuff but I cheat. I use left over pickle juice or the pickled wine juice from the raw herring jars.

My daughter however, does can - mostly applesauce and fruit. She gives me some so I am happy

I live in an apartment, so no choce. I used to garden and really loved eating things from our own garden. Gardens are so much work though! I have moved on to house plant and I'm hoping I don't kill them.
