Qualification Requirements:
1. Download and register a new account with Royal Vegas Poker between August 1st and December 14th 2004 - no purchase required; or
2. Play at least 2,500 raked hands between August 1st and December 1st 2004; or
3. Play at least 1,000 raked hands in any one of the months of August, September, October or November 2004
* Please note that play on table limits lower than $0.25 / $0.50 do not count towards the raked hands requirement
So assuming that a raked hand is a hand where you stake cash, and assuming that the minimum stake is $1, then a minimum of $1,000 has to be staked - is that right?
I am not very good at poker and not used to the rules involved, so is there any clarification on this please?

Hi there,
Definition of a 'raked hand'.. as I understand it is ..
"A raked hand is a hand which you contribute to the pot, and the
Poker Room has collected a rake (fee) from the pot".
Generally the "Poker Room" will take a fee from every pot. In order to qualify playing in a 'raked hand' you must have contributed to the pot in that hand of poker.
Therefore depending on how you play, you'd need to wager at least $1,000 I guess from what it says.. however, depending on your skill (and of course luck) you could easily get away with say $50 or even less and wager $1,000 if you were very patient.
If any Poker Pro's have a better definition - please post it
I'm looking for a new poker site to deposit and start playing again. No need mention where I was playing, but i would certainly join a poker site that had a good offer such as this one.
Can the anyone tell me if anyone is offering a contest such as the one metnioned above? Thanks.

Oh, I forgot, Big Slick ~
If you go there, will you tell them that royalblush sent you and I will get a bonus. You will have to email them to tell them since there is no place for it on the application.

I just read earlier posts and feel I should add to definition of rake: As far as you playing is concerned, you do not have to ante or win the hand to have it counted as a rake for you in Texas Hold'em poker (the only game I play). You just have to be playing at that table when that hand was dealt.

Oh -- (I am so forgetful today) -- The best way to win a big amount of loot without having to bet too big is to play No Limit Texas Holdem poker. That is the only kind I play, also.
And you only have to ante twice out of 10 times if you sit at a 10-player table (also the only place I sit, even for sit'n'go tournaments).
