Eric Stoltz was originally cast as Marty McFly, but that changed because he didn't act enough like a teenager. When Michael J. Fox was cast, his costume was completely revamped.
The main street (where Marty gets sent Back to the Future) is the same one used in Gremlins (1984).
BTTF2 and 3 were filmed back to back. Originally were they meant as one long movie, called Paradox, but it was too expensive to do it as one film. So they made two different movies.
The rumors of Back to the Future 4 ended once the producer announced that "Michael J. Fox is not in the best of shape with his Parkinson's," and that "The idea of making another Back to the Future movie without Michael J. Fox - you know, that's like saying 'I'm going to cook you a steak dinner and I'm going to hold the beef.' You can't do that."
