Loss Of Loved Ones - 20 Mar 2009

Most of you know that earlier this year, I lost my Dad to Cancer...well, through the loss, and with time.. Ive been using a gift, ...poetry to help me with the acceptance and easing of the pain of it all...



Cancerous


Now when we first find out,
there wont be any doubt.
Those families that have to through,
that broken heartedness that touches each of you.

Now all of this is so very unreal,
the emotional trauma is all we feel.
Those feelings of total helplessness set in,
That overwhelmingness experience begins....

Now when they have no answer,
when we find out about the cancer
They talk about the treatment plan...
that leaves them not knowing where to stand.

Now they're asking all about the disease,
They'll be hoping and praying.. for "Help" Please?
This horrendous invasion creates mixed emotions,
That can be conquered with a Loving Devotion.

Now, when the Lord comes for us,
those welcoming Hands you can trust,
To comfort and guide in His glorious display,
That pain suffering will be lifted away.

Now our loved ones we've left behind,
They'll begin to reminisce about the good times,
Their stories will be filled with laughter and cheer,
This is how we'll always keep them near and dear.

Now all that sadness that sadness that fills your heart,
That came when it was their time to depart.
This leaves us feeling we can't go on,
To a world that's empty and all alone.

Now when we lose a loved one and true friend,
That broken heart will need some time to mend.
The call has come from up above,
That will take them on the wings of a dove.

..... with LOVE!

Amazing to what lengths we will go to help us live through an event that we don't want to live with, isn't it?

Did you, by any chance, read my tribute to my mother,which I posted as "My Mother's Spirit" just days after her death?

When I wrote that tribute, it was strange in this way: The words just came tumbling out and I didn't even have to think to write it.
