I have always celebrated Christmas on Chistmas eve...so now every year that is the time Alan and I celebrate Christmas together just the two of us. Love it.
Christmas is a family gathering , we all spent that day together with all family members ( around 25 people and growing ) and after dinner we seat around Christmas tree and we exchange gifts with one another ,so every single person gets so many gifts , that we have to clean trunk of our car to put them in . We have this tradition for the last 20 years , and we all love it !

When I was a kid, my grandparents would show up at one of their grandkids' homes on Christmas morning. Whoever woke up first and called them first is whose house they would go to. So needless to say, we had a tradition of rising very very early that morning.

Our traditions start shortly after Thanksgiving! I bake fruitcakes in cupcake forums and then I start baking any number of kinds of cookies. We have family in on the 23rd for pa's birthday and then on Christmas again.

The one thing I have held true to for the last 30 years or so is our Christmas dinner. Steaks grilled outside (regardless what the weather is), swiss scalloped potatoes and a tossed salad. Easy as all get out and very little time spent in the kitchen

The whole family, brothers, cousins, aunts, uncles etc get together at my brothers Xmas eve for food and gift exchanging. Then Xmas morning, I cook a big breakfast and my daughter, son-in-law and grandson come over (they live next door) and we eat, then exchange our gifts....and play with them. We're big on games, electronics and such.
