I cannot remember how old I was when I sat on his lap EXCEPT my Brother in law plays Santa and years ago he came in and surprised all our kids and we all did pictures sitting on his lap.About 25 years ago..

I vaguely recall waiting in line for what seemed like forever to me as a youngster, maybe 5 yrs old, but the actual sitting on his lap part for some reason I don't remember at all! I was probably so scared I blocked it from memory!
