Mother's Day Contest

Dear crushers, my mother is gone now, but the maine thing was she always put her kids and my kids 1st. in her life, i guess thats what i do now, following in her footsteps. my mother would help anyone that needed her, god love her. when she got ill, and could no longer take care of herself, my daughter step up and said mon you go ahead and work ill take care of grandma, tammy learned how to do feeding tubs and the whole thing , to keep her alive, she took 10yrs taking care of mon. tammmy said to me mon was afraid to leave her when she couldn ,t harley bear it at the end, tammy told her it was alright she still had me, mon left that nite, to a better place i hope , she desearved it.i can remember her singing her favorite song to me and my kids , you are my sunshine, ty josie 46

Well I can honestly say that my mother showed and taught me what

unconditional love is and all about charity and giving and not expecting

anything in return.....TRUST me when I say some of these things have

been very difficult lessons to swallow especially in the last year

or so.......

I just want to say how lucky we all are to have a mom, I never realised what sacrifices my mum had to make raising 3 children all alone and also taking care of my grandma who was blind until i myself became a parent.

I just want to say thankyou mom i love you and have a great mothers day, i also dedicate this to all mum's.

Well I love my Mum dearly and she did the best she could with what she had and for that I wont hold the mistakes she made against her, I love her for teaching me to love unconditionally and to tolerate and empathise, I can't thank her enough for teaching me these things, for putting up with me through all the years by herself and for giving up so much of herself for me. And the special thing you always did was make a delicious dinner when it seemed like there was nothing in the cupboards, unfortunatly I didn't inherit the cooking talent lol


Happy Mothers day to all the Mums out there, as a Mum to two boys I know first hand what effort mothers put in all the time and well i think we deserve Mothers day once a week lol. or atleast a sleep in (whats that? lol)

dear nono , yes you were lucky tohave two mons, that were good and loving. from what i read on so far, we were all lucky, to have the kind of mother, that would teach us , and guide us , to be kind, and respect others. (happy mothers Day toyou and all mons out there, ty josie46

Almost 3 years ago my Mom was on her death bed. We were told she probably was not going to make it. We stayed in the waiting room all night long praying. I can't even describe what I went through that night. At one point, this pastor from the hospital who was with us, had suggested to me that we start thinking about taking her off the respirator. I looked at her in a daze thinking what is she talking about. Because she was in intensive care, we were only allowed to see her for a couple mins when they allowed us to, but every time it was my turn, Mom would respond to me. Why would I take her off the respirator!!! When Mom pulled out of this, my daughter and I were up there visiting her. She wasn't speaking much but all of a sudden she just looked at us and said, "I saw God." I was waiting for her to follow up with something but she didn't. So I asked, "Did he say anything to you?" She really gave expression in how she replied back, "He said GO BACK!". Mom is doing "GREAT" now but she doesn't recall this conversation at all. I'm soooo glad there was two of us there at the time this happened because no one would have ever believed this. I have *ALWAYS* loved my Mom deeply for many many reasons but wanted to write this because from time to time I hear people putting down one of their parents. I love my Mom deeply through all the good and bad. She is human and wasn't perfect either. Soooooooo for this Mother's Day, please read Nono's post also, and *THANK GOD* that you still have your Mother here!!!

I too had a great, wonderful and loving mother. She was always supportive of my brothers and I. She is the one that paid my way through nurses training. We had many great times together. When I lost her I lost not only my mother but a good friend and genealogy buddy.
Mother's Day is a hard time of the year for me. We had to hospitalize a dear and loving mother-in-law on that day only to lose her by July that year. 10 years later on Mother's Day I was sitting with my mother after one chemo treatment going through the same ordeal all over again. We lost her in June of that year. 4 years ago on Mother's Day my husband was admitted to the hospital and had 5 bypasses. I am fortunate that I still have him and he thinks he has another 62 years on this heart.
It has taken me some time to think about entering this contest because of my feelings about this day.
But I did have a great mother and loved her very much.

My mother is flying with the angels but never too far from her family.
Infact I sometimes feel her sooo close I can even smell her white sholders (perfume). What I remember about my mom most was her little Jig (dance) she use to do when she was happy and how her beautiful green eyes use to light up when she smiled,( the same ones that made me tremble when I got in trouble) She was a tiny lady with a great presents. Taught me that as long as I had the "right thing in mind" or as long as I did nothing that I might regret, I'd be alright. I try to live by those words and so far....so good. thanks mom.

The greatest thing about my mother would be that she has always been there for us no matter were we all maybe we can always count on her to be there for support or advice

I lost my mom when i was three, the only thing i can remember is her sitting in a rocking chair with a blanket on her, I was told by my older siblings that she always sat there nitting.

Happy Mother's Day to all of you wonderful Mothers, here at CC. Your stories about your mothers have brought tears to my eyes. I am truly blessed to still have my mom, and I wish I could share her with you all. Her Heart is truly BIG enough for everyone. I wish, in my lifetime, I could be just 1/2 of the Good and Caring person that she is.

My mother passe away 13 years ago. She was a very special person. She always used to say i was her best gift. I love and miss her so much!!!

WOW the tears wont stop, thanks crushers for sharing your moms with
us, mymom is super and i just came to that realazation several years ago, we had our tough times though she was always there i was not. i used to blame her for my mistakes, and well now i have children and see what i put her through for now i am the one of blame in my childrens eyes. now i call my mom and apologize and whole heartly realize just how lucky i actually am.....they keep telling her she doesn't have much longer and well my mom seems to have pulled out of braintumor, and cancer on the main valve to her heart , she just recently over rode that.
