Computer Help Please

HELP!! anyone know much about computers. I have to post this from hubby's computer as I cleared cookies and shut mine down last night and now it won't boot up. Gets to the ACER screen and stops

thanks sarah. Yeah I redownloaded the AVG software the other day and scanned and such and now this grrrrr. Don't know what to do.

here is what you can try shut down the computer then when you start it press the F8 key and hold it down it should then take you to a screen where it promt you to either start the compuer is safe mode and from there you can either find the fault or reset the computer like 2 days back and then restart it again hope everything works out for you

I have tried the F8 thing and it still goes nowhere.

have you got a recovery disk and try that it worked for me once on my old computer lost all data on my hard drive but at least i got in if that doesn't work then i suggest you give it a good smack or take to repair

sable the recovery disc will work probably tho it will take back to factory setings so wipe everything you have on computer, lol its an acer laptop i have and i screwed it up at weekend but i had no disc so mines is away and no idea when i will get it back, hence reason im not here as much, hope you get yours sorted okay

well I am not exactly sure what I did but I am now on my computer. I unplugged it and took it apart enough to get to all sections and dusted it. I had already dusted out what I could get to and it hadn't worked but opening it further and dusting stuff inside seems to have worked.

So basically it seemed to need exploritory surgery lmao.
