I remember one birthday party my parents had for me. It was in the basement. I might have been 6 years old. I distinctly remember crying about not being able to open presents when I wanted to and getting a big fat lecture about it on my very own birthday! Pooey!!!!!
How far back can you go?

Since my Birthday is December 22nd, I always got lost in the shuffle of Christmas. I do remember having a party when I was 11 and getting play jewelry as a gift. My husband did surprise me on my 40th with a party and the next day my mom had a surprise party for me also. This year I turn 50 and am not expecting anything. My grandmother used to give me a gift and tell me to pick which day I wanted to open it-Christmas or my birthday--that's hell on a little girl when you see your brothers and sisters getting 2 gifts-one for Christmas and one for their birthday.

woooooe nellllie......the earliest i can remember being the earliest....is when my mom gave me a doll which was tall as i was....whew what a scare....at the same time....im thinkin it was when i was about 5 or 6....due to the time frame of our family being in newport news....virginia....now mind you i was slightly scared of this new my size doll....crazy .....i remember sooo well that i was not too thrilled about this "doll" which had change of clothes of her own, although lacked the ability to change herself....so my mom put the doll away...well several or more years went by and wahla tha doll came back...we had moved and all of sudden this doll was in my new room...hmmm....by this time i was taller and bigger than tha doll....so it was all good and the doll became part of my room...didn't play with her much. although one day i will be able to talk about the cool present i got...that was a car....like my meez here has....i gave it to her yesterday.........funny huh?
thanks for the silly jolt back in time...whew a differnt type of rush.

Well I remember when I was in 2nd grade I had a surprise birthday party for me to my mother's dismay. It was about 2pm on a Saturday and all these kids started to arrive that I invited to my birthday party (by word of mouth) with gifts wrapped. My mother asked me why they were coming. I replied "I told you I was having a birthday party!!!!" She had to make a quick trip to the store and get cake and ice cream HA HA I still have to this day a small wooden chest with a carving and painting on it that one of the boys gave me. Needless to say it was a surprise birthday party for my mom.
Now some of you are talking about a few years back ----- I will say it's a few more that a few for me and that little box is an antique now!!!!!!

The earliest Birthday I can remember was when I must have been 7 or 8. We had a costume party in the backyard. I was a gypsy. Back then everyone was taking home movies with 8 mm film (it was the mid 50'). We had one of those those huge projectors, so Dad got a long extension cord, tacked a white sheet on the side on the house and showed Popeye, Heckle and Jeckle, Woody Woodpecker etc cartoons on the sheet. My present was a roller coaster. It was about 30 feet long, about 6 feet off the ground and was powered by gravity, start at the top and go down to the end on the ground.
Come to think of it, that was probably the best B-day of my youth.
Thanks for triggering that memory.

You all must have great memory... I don`t recall any of my birthdays before 18 Birthday. I know I was always getting dolls and books on my Birthdays, had so many off them that I gave many dolls away to friends who didn`t have them.Books, still have this hunger for having a lots of them at house. But my 18 Birthday was a different, I had a boyfriend who was already in collage and I want it to have champagne ,but my parents say they wont let me till I am over 20 years old. I was so upset , I still remember this . Birthday turn out to be fine, but I still can`t understand, why they treat me like a child then . My parents were very protective and that was a reason I got married on my first year in collage...lol just to get rid from the house with rules
I love my parents now more then ever !

Well I have had a birthday every year from my 1st birthday till my 19th. As that was how old I was when my mum was taken from me.
One that really stands out and makes me laugh was when i was 10, my mum had hired out the local hall (only cuz she hated cleaning all the mess if we had it at home) lol
Anyway there was a stage in this hall which we could all dance on and around halfway through the party my uncle who is only a year older than me (Age 11) started to do a strip show to the music on his own infront of everyone, all the kids and many parents who had stayed, I have photos still to prove this, where he is in his undies swinging his trousers round his head,
OMG I was laughing my head off tho, at that age i thought it was really funny, my mum didn't know where to look with embarrassment heehee
I still wind him up now and get the pics out LMAO.
I can't remember what i got that year, one thing was my jump jumper, i loved that having races on them with my mates
Thanks again for the contest
Its great bringing back all the fun memories.

My earliest birthday was like 3 or 4....Dr. Gamble brought me into this world and, oddly enough, I was the only child he delivered on his birthday so he would celebrate with my family and I remember him giving me a Hi Ho Cherry game....loved "cherries" every since!. Another coinicidence, he left general practise and became a anestetiologist and when I had knee surgery my senior year of high school he was my anestetiilogist up in the Twin Cities...we didn't know he was there until shortly before my operation.

Well, growing up as kids we didn't have parties, because we were so poor. How poor were we, you ask? We were so poor that the roaches moved out, cause there wasn't enough food for them! LOL!! BUT- I DID get a (thriftstore) set of Lincoln Logs for my 6th Birthday, so I definitely remember that day! I played with those things for years!
