I've been meaning to throw this one out there and hopefully get some answers...
One thing I've been finding lately is that it has almost become impossible to "ride the wave" playing at an online casino site. I used to think it was only playing blackjack that this happens, but I've noticed in keno, video slots, and video poker. Normally when you sense or feel a wave of good luck..the obvious thing to do is to immediately raise your bet. And being able to do so is the actually the only factor you have control of (you don't have control of luck) that could help to determine whether or not you come out with winnings or losses. Therefore with that being said....winning online becomes harder. Why? Because every time I raise....that wave of good luck or string of wins just suddenly ends with no remorse and no intention of coming back. The contrast is so black and white - that it makes me question the integrity of the casino software.
So here's my question...do the odds change as player's increase their bets? For example, when I experimented with Keno, betting a penny up to a dollar (although I had a couple of $5 hits) - I find that I'm hitting numbers easily..whether or not the hits bring in a significant win..at least numbers do get hits. Now raise my bet (get greedy) and go for $10 bet...it's like the game gets scared and doesn't not even hitting one number? In blackjack..you win 3 hands, then you lose 1...then you win 4 hands...then lose 1..you win 3 hands..lose 1..so figure things look like they are going your way...ok..raise....you lose....you lose....you lose..you lose...you lose...ok push...you lose...finally 1 win...and you just keep losing. Why is that? Slots...haven't played long enough...the only thing I notice and its probably just me..but when I raise...the very spin I raised on..never wins anything. I'm used to it now...so when I raise and I get nothing on the first spin..it no longer phases me.
I find I do better betting lower than higher...when I increase my bet approx 90% of the time nada...
That's just my opinion...for some though raising a bet works...maybe it depends on the sofware, time of day you play and what day you play etc...
I've always found without a bonus I do better and usually Tuesdays & Thursdays late evening or after midnight I seem to do better...Perhaps it's just me...
What I have found is to raise your bet a few spins then go back to where you were playing and in one or three spins you will hit something.
If what I am playing is not hitting I will check other bets to see if they are hitting. I have found that one of the bets will start hitting as the others won't. So I play that bet for awhile.
So if 20 cents is hitting stick with it for awhile. If it is not hitting go up to 40 cents and see if that is hitting better.
Once the hitting starts to slow down change your bet a few hands and then come back.
