I just had to revive this topic:) Just as an update, we are temporarily settled in a townhouse about 15 minutes from our house; the contractors started the process of tearing down last week. They are going to repair/rebuild our house on it's existing foundation, and they hope to have us in by Thanksgiving. It's been crazy beyond belief with the house and insurance-we have to inventory all of the stuff we threw out, which has been just about everything, and school and everything else has just made things crazy. But again, I was so glad to meet everyone, even though we were only there for a short while. I'm so sorry that I didn't get to spend more time with everyone; it seems like lately my trips to AC have been jinxed. The last time Grandma and I went, I no sooner got there and we got a call from my sister that my mom (who passed this past March, God rest her soul) had gotten arrested for a DUI, so we had to turn around and leave. I'm almost afraid to go again after this last trip, but I'm sure things are going to start to look up. I am really going to try to make Vegas this November (never been there, so it can't be jinxed yet!) and really hope to be able to spend more time with all my CC family. Thank you all for the kind words and thoughts; once things settle down a bit more, you'll be seeing me around here much more often again. Oh, and I really like all the pics that were posted from the AC trip! I hope everyone is well and I miss you all!!

am glad you are safe and that your home is being rebuilt.it's just sad the destruction a tornado causes.I can't even imagine the terrior you were going through being away from home when it happened,maybe it was good you weren't home.hope you have better luck going to vegas.I hope one day i'll be able to go to vegas and meet you all.

Thanks, Shirls. It was an awful drive home, but hubby said he was glad I wasn't there since I would have one more person to worry about. Thank God everyone is safe, though. And he's probably right, I would have been a basket case to boot. Looking forward to next time!
