Another Royal Contest - Winners Announced!

My Mom was an awesome strong woman...Her Mom died when she was 7 yrs old during childbirth, her 13th. When Mom was 12 yrs. old her father arranged for her to live and care for a family whose wife was dying...the woman dies about 10 months after Mom moved in to care for them,at 13 years old my Moms Father made her marry this man who was more than twice his age.Her Father died that same year. Momma had 6 children with this man...and he was very abusive toward her but not their kids. When I was 2 weeks old He and a girlfriend he had kidnapped the older kids leaving me and Mom on our own. Mom got word he had moved to Calif. when I was about 6 weeks old so she and I traveled by bus to calif.in search of her kids. For 3mos she serched and with no luck so she decide to go back and wait it out...while waiting at the bus stop she met my "Daddy'" To make a long story short they fell in love, married and had my 2 baby brothers. Momma went through Hell searching for her older childrenShe and Daddy hired private detectives and every thing else you could imagine to find them but with no luck...but LOVE was on her side because each one of them came home one at a time...every time one of the kids turned 16 they would find her!Mom and Daddy always had info published all over the world so they could find us. Mommma passed away afew years back with all of her babies and Daddy by her side.My screen name is in honor of my Mom. Thank You for this contest....

My mom ROCKS!! She has always been a mom mom...helping us make peanut butter play dough (its edible) and finger paint, etc. She let me make my own pies in my dads left over chicken pot pie tins when I was little! But after my sister my died, she fell apart and we all tried to hold each other together and now she is one of my closest friends as well. I call her at least once a week and talk for hours.

What can I say, my mum is great, she taught me respect and love and kept us going even when she divorced from dad. She had never worked a day in her married life, but as soon as she split up she got a job as a cleaner to keep me and my brother and sister.

I have thought of this contest off & on, but it seemed like I was supposed to go on and on about how great my mother is and how much I llike Mothers Day. Neither is true.

On Mothers day, after exchanging gifts and hugs with my daughter and my grandchildren ( with whom I am VERY grateful for ) I spend the rest of the day keeping busy trying to forget what day it is because I know my son will not call. Even though it has been quite a few years since he wished me a Happy Mother's Day, it still hurts. That is a whole different story.

My mom never liked me as a child, she admitted this to me when I was a teenager.We have had periods of love/hate relationship over the years. The last time we went about 3 years not talking to each other and this time, Ithink, hurt the worst. My husband died about 5 years ago. It was sudden and unexpected. I already had emotional "issues" before he died, but when the news was given to me, my mind went totally black. I guess I had what you call a "nervous breakdown".

My mother and I had been very close before he died. We were living with her in her farmhouse in North Dakota. At the time he died, I was in the cities (Mpls/St Paul) with my daughter. A couple of days after he died, she told me that she thought it was best if we didn't talk or see each other for a while. I don't remember the exact conversation (I don't remember much of anything from that time), but that was the meaning of the call. She had been close to my husband, maybe that had something to do with it. I do remember being shocked, very confused, and deeply hurt.

In a matter of 4 days, I had lost my husband (with whom I loved more than life itself), my mother, and my home. Part of the reason this was so devastating is because my husband and my mom were almost my entire support system. I don't remember muchof anything after that. I know that I stayed in the hospital for some time and then I went to live with my daughter and her family. I have stayed with them ever since. They tell me sometime later my mother sent what she decided was mine.

I am sorry, I really meant to keep this short, and maybe I told more about myself than you wanted to know, but sometimes it helps to tell some one. I am still recovering from all of this.

I talk to my mom now, every now and again, but it is totally superficial. She tells me that she loves me very much, but I don't believe her. I think tohough, now she is getting old, she has made herself believe it.

On the bright side I have my daughter, her husband and three beautifu grandchildren who really do love me very much!!

GJr that was a very emotional post and a real tear jerker as my husband has that kind of relationship also with his mom but I am glad to hear you are close to your daughter and grandchildren and I hope you all treasure the time you are together and know that you have a bond with your own child.

If only my mother knew the feelings and appreciation I have for her...

I love my mother... she is a loving, caring, person. and raised me to be the same way. I tell her I love her now all the time. and she has never given up on me when my life was hopeless and I was in self destruction mode and drinking myself to death.. why am I still here? it's the grace of god who never left me. I am sober now 5 years and without the love and support of my mother I would be dead.

Okay..I got both, good and bad..

My mother was divorced from my fother 15 years ago, and when that happened she started drinking heavely..She did that for about two year when suddenly she met another man and they have been married for about 8 years now..She don´t drink anymore..

BUT from all the time I remember, she always was there for us three kids, drunk or not. Our father never took care of us, so my mother always had the room and space for us to be. Always loving and I actually don´t remember she ever have yelled at us...

So all in all, good or bad, off cause I think my mother is the best in the world..And I would do anything for her...

I have the most wonderfullist mother in the world, she does for everyone else and somtimes forget to do for her self, God blesses her in so many ways, she never wants for money she, explains God provides all she needs and she has a lot, she is a retired coal miner, she was forced to retire early due to closing of the mines, she now works for a local resturaunt near her home, just to give the money to others, what kind of mom is that, I do not ask her very much for any money but at times I do when in need , My Mom is a very religious mother and she should of been a preacher, because she is always preaching to the grandkids and sometime to me, but I have heard it all over the years, and I did take some heed from what she preached, I Love my Mother very much, and I would die if she would pass away, but I know my Mother will live to be a 100.

My Mother is most loving children person I know. She made her life totally devoted to her children.She was the only child in her family ,so she wanted her kids to have siblings( I have 2 brothers) like she never had.Her Mother die of cancer when she was 17 years old, so, she was very eager to be healthy and provide her children with all the attention and love she had. My Father loves my Mother for past 57 years ! They are the only couple I know, who still admire each other and you can see how much love they have to each other. All my friends always were jealous of my parents because this factor, my father likes to compliment my Mother on daily basis.For him ,she is still 20 years old and most beautiful women on the world. I am very proud to have parents who can show their affection for so many years. My Mother is my ideal women !
